Personal care supports involve helping with daily personal activities, including assistance or supervision with essential daily tasks. These supports may be needed in various settings, such as:
- Living alone in your own home
- Residing in one of our Supported Independent Living (SIL) properties
- Staying in medium-term or short-term accommodation
- Living with family or others
- Traveling away from home
Types of Personal Care Supports we provide:
- Mobility Support: Assistance with hoist transfers and getting in and out of bed
- Dressing Support: Help with putting on and taking off clothing
- Showering Support: Assistance with bathing or showering
- Toileting and Management: Support with bladder and bowel management, including menstrual care
- Personal Grooming: Help with shaving, applying makeup, and hair care
- Light Domestic Tasks: Assistance with basic household chores
- Meal Assistance: Help with preparing and consuming meals
- Eating and Drinking: Support with eating and drinking
- Use of Aids: Assistance with hearing and communication devices, and other aids and appliances
- Attending Appointments: Support with getting to and from appointments
